OrthoIndy Trauma

Since 1993, Orthoindy has been training orthopedic traumatologists. The team, with combined 130 years of experience, includes eight fellowship trained traumatologists (staff trained at Shock Trauma, Harbourview, Johns Hopkins and OrthoIndy Trauma).  In the 22 years since our fellowship begin, OrthoIndy has trained 43 board certified surgeons who have gone on to practice in both academic and community settings across the country.

In an effort to create a comprehensive training experience, as a fellow, you will be exposed to management of a large volume of patients. The scope of practice will include acute poly trauma injuries, complex articular injuries, along with fragility fractures, peri-prosthetic fractures, ml-unions, non-unions and a very active reconstructive (total joint) and osteotomy experience.  We have weekly multi-disciplinary didactic conference. All patient care is under the direct guidance of our experience staff surgeons.

- We’ve created a system that allows the fellow the flexibility to be available for a greater number of operative cases (>800 per year).

- We have built a team of very experienced mid-level practitioners who are primarily responsible for all ER and floor consults, daily rounds and clinic visits. This allows the fellow the freedom to focus on his/her education and operative skills that will be paramount in their practice post-fellowship.

- Time dedicated to research and study.
